UNCW Watson College Opportunities for Future Teachers

Announcements from UNCW's Watson College of Education for any students who are interested in becoming teachers:

Watson Preview Days, October 26 & November 9
The Watson College will host two preview events for high school and transfer students interested in becoming a teacher. This is a Saturday morning event where ANYONE interested in learning more about what we offer at Watson can attend. We suggest that students bring their families to this event so we can answer any questions they may have. We provide Coffee/Donuts and FREE Parking in the deck across from Watson. The event begins with a welcome from the dean’s office, followed by a Faculty and Staff presentation. We will have a student panel discussion (Always the most popular) and end the event with open exploration of the building. During this time the Ed Lab and Curriculum Materials Center offer interactive breakouts with arts/crafts/technology and more! RSVP online.

WCE Future Teacher Conference, October 30, 9:30-2:00
The Future Teacher Conference is an opportunity for high schools to bring students to UNCW. This is a day where students who have an interest in education can feel what it is like to be a Watson Student. During their time here, we will offer sessions for them based on their educational interests. Our faculty/staff will be providing sessions for the students who attend, and we will be opening the Ed Lab and CMC to offer interactive opportunities. Back by popular demand, we will also have our student panel discussion. Brand new for this year, we will also have the inflatable planetarium as one of our sessions. This is FREE to any PDS high school, including lunch for all students and chaperones. If you are interested in bringing students from your school, please email Dean Heath at heatht@uncw.edu
