The New Hanover County Board of Elections is promoting the use of Student Election Assistants for the Municipal local elections in November and for the primary elections in March.Students would make $125.00 dollars to work the polling station and they would get money to attend one training session. Four students will be selected from WECHS on a first come, first serve basis.
Student Election Assistant Requirements:
1. Must be a United States citizen
2. Must live in New Hanover County
3. Good grades, no specific GPA established
4. Principal approval
5. Must attend 1 training by the NHC Board of Elections
6. Must be 17 years of age on the day of election
7. Student must be able to get themselves to their district polling station
